What is the studio ettiquite?
Yoga is more of a breathing exercise than what you might think! We are pairing intentional breathing with intentional movement. The breath comes first, and the breath comes last. In between there is the alignment of the physical body.
Long deep breathing through the nose is optimal at all times.
If you find yourself needing to breathe through your mouth – it’s likely you have pushed yourself a little too far or have simply forgotten and the inner autopilot has taken over, maybe your mind is caught up elsewhere. Notice, return to breathing through the nose, and continue on with the practice of presence.
Instructors will all cue the breath differently, there are names for certain breathing styles like ‘Ujjayi’. Pick up on what works for you as your journey unfolds. It’s work, but it’s worth it!
Where should I park?
We can’t wait to see you at 7110 Woodlawn Ave NE, right in the vibrant heart of Greenlake! We’re so grateful for the fantastic parking options available! You can find paid Seattle street parking on NE 71st or 72nd St or Woodlawn Ave NE. And don’t forget about the super convenient paid parking garage you can enter from NE 71st or 72nd St that gives you a delightful 90-minute validation when you pick up a snack at PCC. Who knows, you might even stumble upon some free street parking nearby—let the adventure begin!
Do all memberships renew?
Your Membership (Mini, Monthly, Annual) will renew automatically for the same duration and rate, unless you complete the Membership Cancelation Form online at least 5-7 days in advance of your renewal date. Halea Yoga may change membership terms and rates under this agreement by posting notice of such change at least 5-7 days in advance of such change.
We make freezing (or suspending) your membership painless. After filling out the online Suspension Request Form, please allow 3-5 business days for us to process your request. The billing will automatically resume once freeze period has ended.
When does my membership cancel?
Your membership auto renews every month. Cancel with 5–7 days notice via the Halea Yoga app or website form above. Taking a break? Freely pause your membership for however long you need! Whether you’re sick, bored, traveling, etc.!
How do I breathe during class?
Yoga is a journey of breath and awareness! Each inhale and exhale is a step in your transformative path. Let your breath guide you both at the beginning and the end of your practice, while body alignment supports your journey in between.
Embrace the power of deep breathing through your nose – it nurtures your body and spirit.
If you catch yourself taking shallow breaths through your mouth, pause for a moment. Gently return to your breath and reconnect with the present moment in your practice.
Instructors will share various techniques for breathing, introducing you to terms like ‘Ujjayi’ that resonate with different styles. Explore what resonates with you as you progress. It requires dedication, but the rewards are profound!
